The polyacrylamide used in wastewater treatment is a macromolecule with a large atomic weight and twisted fiber structure. In the dissolved solution state, they are a precipitated coagulant with a strong chemical affinity for suspended solids. Concentrated and separated the solute from the water.

However, polymers are often prepared in the form of a concentrated emulsion, or an anhydrous powder to facilitate transportation and storage. Therefore, before use, it must be dissolved and quantified in tanks (or polymer dissolving equipment).

Dissolution mechanism

In powder form, the polymer is even an insoluble substance. It gets wet and clumps easily. This prevents the interaction of water with the polymer particles on the inside. Therefore, in the process of preservation and transportation, there must be specialized drying equipment.

The polymer mixing tank must be stirred continuously. The goal is to create a homogeneous solution that does not contain any undissolved polymer particles.

In addition, it is necessary to ensure that the concentration is stable and suitable for sludge dewatering machines. Because if the solution is too dilute, it will not be able to separate all the dissolved solids in the wastewater. If the solution is too thick, the excess polymer will break down the flocs. The pressed wastewater is viscous and has high turbidity.

The dissolving device must also maintain the polymer solution incubation period. It lasts for a certain amount of time. The reason is that the fibrous structure of the polymer molecule cannot fully unfold immediately to achieve the highest chemical efficiency.
