1 stage emulsion dissolving device FREETA-β is designed for dissolving polymer emulsions in smaller volume than FREETA-α.
FREETA-β consists of only a polymer chamber made of stainless steel. The device is integrated with a stirring motor system. It acts to dissolve polymer solutions in a single tank.
Principle of polymer dissolution
Polymers exist in three forms: solid, emulsion, and soluble solution. The soluble form is the result of dissolving powder and emulsion polymers. Among them, powder polymer is the most popular, because of its easy storage, preservation, and transportation convenience.
Because emulsion polymers give the ability to dissolve much faster than powder polymers. Therefore, FREETA-β is not suitable for the efficient dissolution of powdered polymers.
The main factor of the dissolution is agitation. If agitation is too slow, the polymer cannot dissolve in water. If it is too fast, the fibrous structure of the polymer will break down and inactivate. To solve this problem, the FREETA-β is designed to control the stirring motor.
The long fibrous structure of the polymer after dissolution must undergo a certain waiting time, for this twisted structure to be stretched. FREETA-β allows incubation in the optimal time from 30-60 minutes depending on the capacity of each model. Dissolved polymer solution has a high viscosity, no air bubbles. Concentration in the range 0.15 - 0.2%.
